PPWR PACKAGING INFORMATION

Storopack supplies a wide range of packaging products and packaging components. Depending on the product and supply chain, Storopack may act in different roles under the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). 

1. Where Storopack acts as a Supplier

For many products supplied by Storopack, another economic operator is the PPWR Manufacturer and is responsible for issuing the Declaration of Conformity for the final packaging. This may include, for example: 

• Flexible protective packaging such as air pillows, paper cushions, foam packaging and loose fill.
• Customized protective packaging specified by the customer.
• Packaging materials and components such as tapes, films, strapping and filling materials that do not constitute packaging in its final form and only perform a packaging function when combined with other elements.
• Packaging in its final form customized and branded by Storopack customers 

In these cases, Storopack provides supporting compliance information upon request to assist customers with their own PPWR conformity assessment, technical documentation and Declaration of Conformity obligations. 

2. Where Storopack acts as the PPWR Manufacturer

For certain packaging types, Storopack is responsible for the packaging conformity assessment and issues the PPWR Declaration of Conformity (DoC). This may include, for example: 

• Packaging in its final form customized or branded by Storopack.
• Packaging systems supplied by Storopack as complete packaging units, whether supplied assembled or disassembled.
• Other packaging for which Storopack determines the design specifications or places the packaging on the market as manufacturer. 

The packaging types identified below fall within this category and are covered by Storopack PPWR Declarations of Conformity.
